Mission E-possible at the Strand Palace
Hotel
Built in 1907, the Strand Palace Hotel in the heart of London is
one of the capitals best hotels for business and leisure guests. With recent
refurbishment of the bedrooms, public areas and Johnstons Brasserie, the Strand
Palace Hotel selected Visual One to provide a new fully integrated software
solution including Front Office, Sales and Catering and Point of Sale. Working
in partnership with Visual One, DED Limited was selected to provide all of the
EPOS hardware for the new system.
The Visual One system is now up and
running at the Strand Palace Hotel, with no integration issues, staff finding
it intuitive and simple to use, and business continuing as usual.
With
5 bars and restaurants within the Strand Palace complex each serving anything
up to 1000 customers per day, the Strand Palace Hotel offers an excellent
choice of food and surroundings to cater for every taste, and all with the best
service e-possible.
The Strand Palace Hotel chose 15 inch 3M
touchscreens for all bar and restaurant areas including the room service
system, for it's sharp, bright screen, robust construction, compatibility with
all leading POS software, and for it's built in magnetic stripe reader.
The TSP700 thermal receipt printer from Star Micronics was also
selected for all the bar and restaurant areas in the Strand Palace Hotel.
Chosen for its incredibly fast print speed, the TSP700 also features drop in
and print easy load paper, splash proof cover and two colour print capability.
The SP2000 dot matrix printer from Star Micronics was chosen as a
kitchen printer for use in the Strand Palace carvery, and for all departments
in the hotel kitchen because of it's unique kitchen buzzer function to alert
kitchen staff when a food order has been placed in the restaurant.
The
CB-2002LC cash drawer from Star Micronics was also selected for use in all bars
and restaurants in the Strand Palace Hotel as it could easily be driven from
the Star TSP700 receipt printer, and because of its three position lock,
compulsion switch and lockable cover insert.
