The New 'Picoboard' Controller Board for the Axiohm Electron

Designed specifically for use with the Axiohm Electron thermal printer mechanism, the Picoboard controller board is now available from DED. Small and easy to use, the Picoboard will prove to be a cost effective and efficient solution for portable applications such as electronic cash registers, electronic fund transfer, and test and measurement environments.

Supplied with drivers for Windows 98, 2000 and XP, the Picoboard comes with an RS232 interface and is only 58mm wide x 30mm depth x 13mm height. For integrating a printer driver circuit onto a different PCB, a separate chipset is now also available for use with the Axiohm Electron.

The Axiohm Electron 58mm micro thermal printer mechanism offers extremely simple integration, high printing speed of up to 70mm/sec and particularly easy paper loading thanks to the clamshell design. With a footprint of 68.6mm by 26.3mm, and a height of just 30mm, the dimensions of the Electron offer a compact printer solution suited to most portable devices. Its low weight of just 32g and low power voltage of 3.3 to 5 VDC also make it an ideal solution for battery powered devices.
