Carvers of Wolverhampton Standardise on
the TSP800 to combat fraud and resize invoices.
As
part of a drive towards increased security, Carvers Building Supplies of
Wolverhampton have introduced the TSP800 from DED Limited into their Point of
Sale (POS) system for printing receipts and invoices.
Wanting to get
away from multi-part forms, and having concerns about customers creating and
printing their own A4 loading notes as if they had been officially issued, and
then picking goods from the yard without paying for them, Carvers decided that
steps needed to be taken to make invoices and receipts harder to forge.
David Carver, of Carvers of Wolverhampton contacted DED Limited looking
for a solution to this issue, and was demonstrated the TSP800. Featuring a
unique scalable raster driver, the TSP800 has the ability to scale down an A4
page and print it on to 112mm wide receipt paper without the need for expensive
software modifications. With Carvers using the TSP800, it is now almost
impossible for dishonest tradesmen to replicate invoices and help themselves to
goods from the yard.
Carvers were so impressed with the TSP800's
ability for receipt printing that they are now also using it for printing
barcode labels for their new document scanning system.
Also capable of
printing tickets and reports, the TSP800 features a 150mm/second print speed,
compact footprint, drop in and print easy paper loading, and thanks to the
options of USB, Parallel, Serial or Ethernet options, the TSP800 was integrated
into the Carvers POS system with minimal fuss.
The TSP800 also has the
ability to automatically print a second copy of the receipt at the point of
sale to store in the till, or keep an electronic journal stored in its memory
ready for printing at a later date if required, meaning that it's no longer
necessary to store large numbers of duplicate receipt rolls.
The
TSP800's exclusive format makes it one of the most flexible PoS receipt/invoice
printers available today offering applications which few other point of sale
printers can, such as: red/black or blue/black printing, logo store for company
branding on receipts, and a wall mount option.
Established in 1896,
Carvers Building Supplies are open to the trade and the public, and carry more
than 20,000 building and DIY products specialised services for kitchen and
bathroom design, garden landscape planning and roof truss manufacture. Carvers
are so committed to the local community in Wolverhampton that they are the main
sponsor for the Wolverhampton City Marathon held every year in September, and
have been for the past 8 years.
When asked about the TSP800 and DED
Limited, David Carver commented "Working straight out of the box for our till
roll application, the TSP800's have proved to be a good workhorse and when we
needed technical support on the barcode printing application, DED proved
themselves up to the mark."
