New Plans for DED - SEEDA Grant Awarded!
As a result of continuing success and reflecting the growth in business seen over the past few years, DED Limited are now making plans for a purpose built facility on an acre of land in the South East of England.

This ongoing growth has been recognised by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) who has awarded DED with a £100,000 grant. The Selective Finance for Investment in England (SFIE) grant will go towards the construction of the new building on Mountfield Road Industrial Estate in New Romney, Kent.

One of the qualifying factors for the SFIE grant is to demonstrate commitment to sustainable economic development in the South East of England. DED's expansion into New Romney will result in increased employment in the area - this coupled with the fact that DED have always maintained a high level of corporate social responsibility helped the grant application run smoothly.

Alex Davis, Accounts and Logistics Manager, DED commented "DED has always maintained close links with the local area and plans to continue investing in New Romney by employing local people, supporting local businesses and suppliers alike. The presentation of this grant has clearly identified DED as a company worthy of government investment and one that endeavours to continue investing in the local economy. We are all very excited about the difference this grant will make to the Mountfield Road development."

The new facility will allow DED to combine the Mill Road and Harden Road sites into one building, offering even more effective customer service and a considerably larger warehouse all under one roof. With construction scheduled to begin later this year, completion is expected within 12 months.
