The Metrologic OptimusPDA

Now available from DED, the Metrologic OptimusPDA is one of the lightest, toughest and most feature rich PDA’s – easy and comfortable to use, the OptimusPDA is little bigger than a mobile phone. With a Microsoft Windows CE5.0 operating system, the OptimusPDA is ideal for applications throughout the supply chain in retail, postal home delivery and industrial applications – its reinforced construction protects against the day to day knocks and bumps of even the harshest delivery or warehouse environments.

Based on a powerful Intel PXA270 520Mhz processor with 128Mb memory & 3.5” colour TFT touchscreen, the OptimusPDA features a MiniSD slot for memory expansion and a powerful Li-ion battery pack that lasts for up to 72 hours on a single charge.

With a durability rating of IP54 and a 1.5 metre drop specification, the OptimusPDA brings versatility to the harshest of indoor and outdoor workplace environments, being designed specifically for applications where temperature varies according to the season and working conditions can be relatively poor.

The unit is offered with either laser or CMOS imaging scan engines for 1D or 2D bar code data collection and can be configured with multiple memory options ensuring that the unit can cope with the most demanding of applications. The OptimusPDA also features a 2 Megapixel camera and a large backlit keyboard.

A range of wireless options to offer versatile data capture and communication are available - Bluetooth, WLAN and GSM/GPRS are offered along with a full range of accessories which enable the OptimusPDA to be customised to suit the user environment. Choose from a one slot, or 4 slot cradle for charging one unit or multiple units at any one time. A trigger handle is also available for scanning and charging purposes along with secondary batteries to make up a rugged, user friendly and powerful PDA solution.
