The Metrologic Focus Rugged Area Imager from DED

Now available from DED, the Metrologic Focus industrial-grade area imager, featuring Metrologic's patented FirstFlash technology, increases productivity by scanning all standard 1D & 2D barcodes on the first flash. Providing unmatched scanning performance in challenging environments such as warehouses, store rooms and distribution centres, the Focus is Metrologic's most rugged bar code scanner to date.

Designed to maximise productivity, the Metrologic Focus offers a set of features previously unavailable in rugged area imagers. Engineered to withstand up to a 2 metre drop, this IP54-rated omni directional scanner tolerates exposure to both dust and splashing water whilst precisely executing applications for retail back-of-store, manufacturing, transportation and logistics.

Reading damaged codes, or those wrapped in clear plastic, the Metrologic Focus outperforms the field in decoding all standard bar codes in a single flash with minimal concern for orientation or print quality - saving time and increasing productivity further.

The Metrologic Focus further separates itself from the competition with patented Code Select technology which allows the imager to capture up to seven bar codes in a single flash and then decode them in any pre-determined order. Total Freedom, an open system architecture, is also available with the Metrologic Focus. Total Freedom offers unlimited possibilities for developing value-added custom application modules embedded directly into the imager instead of the host system.

For image-capture applications, the Focus provides a wide array of outputs by combining a high-resolution CMOS sensor with a powerful processor. With its arsenal of features and an all-inclusive kit, the Metrologic Focus is the all-in-one scanner built to meet the needs of any demanding environment.

For ease of integration, a choice of interfaces including USB, RS232C & Keyboard Wedge are available.
