The Scanpal 2
The Scanpal 2 is a low cost, lightweight, portable and durable data collection terminal / barcode scanner, designed for every day use in a demanding warehouse or retail environment. It has an easy to read LCD screen on which the brightness and font size are both adjustable, making it easy to read even in the darkest of store rooms or warehouses. Providing over 100 hours of operation, the Scanpal 2 uses 2 x AAA batteries, and allows up to 500,000 stock records to be stored at any one time. The Scanpal 2 data collection terminal / barcode scanner features a non contact CCD laser, or a laser scan engine, and uploading information is easy via the RS232, IR, IrDA, or keyboard wedge data transmission. It also has an in built barcode verifier and the option to upload a look up file so that it can be used for price checking on the shop floor without referring to the main database.

The Scanpal 2 RF
Offering the same features as the Scanpal 2, the Scanpal 2 RF is the radio frequency version of this portable data collection terminal / barcode scanner. Working in conjunction with its base station, the Scanpal 2 RF is capable of transmitting data over a distance of 200m. Also offering the ability to run 15 terminals on one base, the Scanpal 2 RF offers high performance RF data collection in all the applications mentioned above. By running multiple base stations connected together using the built in RS485 interface on the Scanpal 2 RF data collection terminal it is possible to increase the range to cover a much larger area. The Scanpal 2 RF has a Windows based application generator allowing easy production of a data collection program tailored to meet individual requirements.
