The DTC400e eliminates riibon and cleaning hassles with simplified materials handling and a user-friendly interface. The SmartLoad™ Ribbon Cartridge combines the printer ribbon and SmartClean™ card cleaning roller into one cartridge. Just slide it into the DTC400e and you’re done. The LCD control panel replaces blinking indicator lights, giving you easy-to-follow prompts and commands so you’ll always know the status of your DTC400e.

Many cards are only used for hours or days, then thrown away. The DTC400e helps eliminate the waste of short-lived cards such as visitor badges or transit passes with the ability to erase and rewrite cards multiple times. Rewritable cards make new ID applications possible, such as: customer loyalty cards with updated point totals, library cards with current due dates, personalized IDs for volunteers, student IDs with schedule information and many more. And while rewritable printing is monochromatic, cards can be preprinted in full color so there’s no compromising appearance quality. Since the printing on rewritable cards is easily changed, they should not be used for secure ID applications.
