Kitchen Printers

OverviewWith technology becoming a major part in Kitchens and Restaurants
these days, its no surprise that kitchen printers are at the
forefront of most food outlet industries.
Two main factors need to be
considered when choosing a kitchen printer to produce order receipts (tickets),
speed and legibility of the print. A slow kitchen printer will not only slow
down order taking but reduce throughput of customers, therfore it is paramount
that a fast kitchen printer like the SP2000 or SP500 are used.
Working
in a noisy environment such as the kitchen of a busy hotel or restaurant can be
stressful enough without the added hassle of missed orders. When customer
orders are sent through to the kitchen from the main restaurant via kitchen
printers, it is expected that the printer will just be heard, but often, when
the kitchen is busy, and because of the noise generated by kitchen equipment,
this is not always the case and orders can be overlooked or even missed.
Both the SP500 thermal kitchen
printer and thecan offer the perfect solution - the option of a kitchen
buzzer which sounds when an order is printed in the kitchen, drawing attention
to the printer. The buzzer simply plugs into the underside of either printer
and is driven by the standard Windows drivers which are supplied with these
kitchen printers. The buzzer makes a noise which would be audible even in the
busiest of kitchens, alerting staff to orders placed in the
restaurant.
The SP500 (top right) The kitchen
printers buzzer forms an integral part of the kitchen accessories range
designed for this printer. Other features included with the kitchen environment
in mind are a water resistant cover, fluid channel and integrated guttering to
direct spills away from the print mechanism and protective easy to clean covers
for both the power supply and interface.
The SP500 is as flexible as
you would expect a kitchen printer to be, capable of working when positioned
either vertically or horizontally depending upon your kitchen counter space
constraints - it even has a wall mounting bracket option to remove it from the
counter altogether and a hinged top cover to ensure that the lid is always
closed after the paper roll has been changed - ensuring that this printer
remains permanently protected from kitchen spills.
The
SP2000 (top

also been designed with busy kitchen printing in mind. The SP2000 kitchen
printer is for those customers who would prefer to use a dot matrix printer for
printing orders in the kitchen environment. It is a low cost, high
specification printer which also comes with a wall mounting option - perfect
for the kitchen environment where space can be so limited.
As with the
SP500, the kitchen buzzer option on the SP2000 is a feature of primary
importance when placing this printer in a kitchen environment. The SP2000 also
offers the unique feature of being protected against obsolescence by having the
ability to upgrade the software easily to meet the needs expected of any
kitchen printer.
