Card Printers
Student ID Cards

Overview
Introduction
Student ID cards are becoming more popular in schools and colleges due to the ever increasing demand in pupil and premises security. These cards can have multiple uses from security to school voucher cards. In most cases these cards are produced on registration day and linked to one central database for ease of tracking etc.
What should I put on my Student ID Card?
Most ID cards have the pupils photograph and details printed on the card and further details encoded on a track on the magnetic stripe. Photographs are normally taken via a webcam for quick integration onto the card and into the database. Further information such as expiry date and current courses taken are also printed on the card.
Which card printer should I choose?
DED have a varied selection of card printers for any type of card printing. The Zebra P430i is ideally suited to Student ID Cards. It can print full colour, print dual sided via its built-in flip over and can be fitted with a magnetic card encoder. For information about encoding, please look out our magnetic encoding guide.
