Supermarket Barcode Scanners

OverviewIn a demanding supermarket environment, serving the customer as
quickly as possible is essential. The majority of supermarkets have a barcode
scanning system, this has come to be expected in the busy supermarket checkout
areas of today, but the scanner chosen to service this need is of ultimate
importance.
Both the MS7600 omnidirectional in counter barcode scanner
and the MS2020 six sided, 360 degree bi-optic in counter barcode scanner are
ideal for supermarket applications, and have many features and benefits to
offer.
MS7600 The MS7600 'Horizon'
barcode scanner is a compact, hands free barcode scanner designed with a dense
20 line omni-directional scanning pattern that helps provide the fast,
efficient scanning throughput so important in busy supermarkets. Its rugged
build and eight inch scanning range make it the ideal barcode scanner for high
throughput in supermarket EPOS applications.
The MS7600 barcode scanner
enables barcodes to be scanned in a single pass, and to further increase
efficiency and productivity within the supermarket, the MS7600 is equipped with
IR laser activation to allow the user to 'wake' the scanner up from its power
save and scan a barcode instantly, and an RS232 auxiliary port for hand held
barcode scanners to be connected, providing easy scanning of bulky, oversized
objects.
MS2020 The MS2020 'Stratos'
directly addresses the high volume point of sale barcode scanning needs of
supermarkets. Designed for high speed scans and checkout, the Stratos is the
worlds first six sided 360 degrees bi-optic in counter barcode scanner to
feature such a space saving design - perfect for seated checkout areas /
operators in supermarkets where space can be so limited.
In addition to
its 68 scan line pattern and 6000 scans per second, the Stratos barcode scanner
has a number of other features which make it ideal for supermarket applications
such as barcode scan statistics recording, an auxiliary port for hand held
barcode scanners and the Stratos barcode scanner features independently
operating and vertical and horizontal barcode scan zones to guard against
complete scanner failure. .
