DED Announce the Arrival of Enhancements to the Zebra ZXP Series 8 Retransfer Card Printer.

Zebra’s best-in-class retransfer printer, the ZXP Series 8 now offers the added security and prolonged life required by many high security applications such as driver’s licenses, ID cards and access control cards thanks to the addition of a lamination module. The latest release of the Zebra ZXP Series 8 comes with new options, enhancements and consumables for the highly successful re-transfer plastic card printer.

The lamination module is available in either single or dual sided (available only on the dual-sided printer at this time) and is available as a factory installed option. The new release of the Zebra ZXP Series 8 also comes with 10/100 Ethernet firmware which will be a downloadable option. The ZMotif software platform and SDK have been updated to support the new ZXP Series 8 options, features and supplies.

To complement the launch of the Zebra ZXP Series 8 lamination module, new consumables for the printer are be available. For lamination, True Secure i series laminates feature full clear top and bottom laminates, clear magnetic stripe and smart card laminates, stock laminates with holographic wallpaper in three designs, custom holographic laminates top and bottom and custom coded laminates. New True Colours i series ribbons are also now available; these include  a YMCUvK ribbon with UV print capability, a YMCKI ribbon with inhibitor panel for use with magnetic stripe, smart chip and signature panel card and a high capacity 2500 image black monochrome ribbon.

The Zebra ZXP Series 8 offers a host of options for smart card encoding and networking. The Zebra ZXP Series 8 produces durable and abrasion resistant, photo-quality cards at nearly twice the speed of other re-transfer printers - up to 150 cards per hour.
The Zebra ZXP Series 8 printer delivers high quality, over-the-edge printing on many different types of cards, including those with uneven surfaces such as smart cards, polycarbonate cards for security applications, and biopolymer cards. The ZXP Series printer is available in single and dual-sided printing configurations with a full portfolio of magnetic encoding, smart card encoding, single and dual-sided lamination, and connectivity options.
Zebra have developed the ZXP Series 8 printer to respond to the industry's need for an on-demand re-transfer printer capable of delivering higher print speeds at lower costs without sacrificing the image quality. Zebra have also developed the ZMotif software platform, to make application integration easier than ever.
Designed to significantly improve enterprise scalability and reliability, a XML-based software development kit is available to support a broad array of features and technologies, making it easier and faster to integrate the ZXP Series 8 re-transfer printer with host of enterprise applications.

Standard and optional features of the ZXP Series 8 re-transfer printer also include: magnetic stripe encoder; combination smart card contact and contactless encoders; contact station; USB or Ethernet connectivity; and security mechanical locks.
